Durga puja

The Durga Puja, the greatest festival of Bengalee is celebrated every year in God’s own country. Trivandrum Bengalee Association (TBA) is colourful and charming because of its ever-youthfulness that manifests as grand celebrations like Durga Puja. Lots of cultural presentations are centred around this biggest celebration of the Bengalees like Drama, dance, songs, recitation, drawing competition, fancy dress etc. The association also organizes Joy Memorial Inter-school quiz competitions for the school children.

Rabindra Jayanti

Rabindra Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore is celebrated jointly with the Public Relation Department and Bharat Bhavan, Govt. of Kerala every year. Children’s drama, solo and chorus song, dance drama and recitation forms part of the Kabi Shradanjali.

Independence day

The first occasion we celebrated was Independence Day / Brasha Mongal. The celebration begins with flag hosting. We welcome the Barsh (Rainy season) with songs. Quiz programme is organised for the children who is enjoyed by every member.

TBA annual day

We celebrate the annual day of TBA with great enthusiasm and excitement. The day is filled with various activities and events that bring us all together as a community. We start the day with sports activities, where everyone participates and showcases their skills and sportsmanship. This is followed by cultural events, where we showcase our talents in music, dance, and drama. The highlight of the day is the lunch that we all enjoy together, sharing laughter and stories. Finally, we end the day with a prize distribution ceremony, where we recognize and appreciate the achievements of our members. The annual day of TBA is a day of joy, camaraderie, and celebration.

TBA Picnic

Every year, usually in December, our family gathers together for a delightful day out in a beautiful location. We engage in various activities and indulge in a delicious lunch. It is a time when we cherish each other's company and create lasting memories. The picturesque surroundings add to the enchantment of the day, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of nature as we bond as a family. Whether it's exploring scenic trails, playing games, or simply relaxing and enjoying each other's presence, this annual tradition brings us closer and strengthens our family ties. We eagerly look forward to this special day every year, as it brings us joy, laughter, and a sense of togetherness.

Holi Celebration

TBA celebrates Holi, the festival of colors, with immense enthusiasm. The members come together and playfully smear each other with vibrant "aabir". Laughter and joy fill the air as everyone participates in this colorful celebration. It is a time of unity and togetherness, where differences are set aside, and everyone becomes a part of the vibrant spectacle. As the day draws to a close, the event concludes with a grand feast. Mouthwatering dishes are prepared and shared among the members, symbolizing the warmth and camaraderie that Holi brings. TBA's celebration of Holi is a true testament to the spirit of this festival, where the bonds of friendship and love are strengthened amidst the kaleidoscope of colors.

Ankur

Ankur is a Bengli magazine published every year at the time of Durga puja. Apart from the puja souvenir, where the articles are published in English, the members contribute their literary creations in Bengali to the Ankur magazine. Previously, this magazine used to be handwritten and displayed on a notice board for everybody to see; but with the advancement in technology and enthusiasm of few members the Ankur magazine is also type-written in Bengali software and available in pdf form , ready to be downloaded from any corner of the globe.

Social works
